Booking our space

Whilst we are primarily a place of worship, we are very glad to share our historic building with the Darlington community. Many groups including  support groups, tai chi, yoga, dance, youth theatre, art groups, history societies and many more use our spaces.

We offer a variety of rooms with capacities from 4 to 80 people depending on configuration and all our spaces are multi-purpose, so can be arranged to suit the event. 

Facilities:

  • Fully accessible building - main entrance (step free) at the back.
  • Wifi access points in all rooms.
  • Tables and chairs available though out the building.
  • Equipment includes flip charts, whiteboard, large TV
  • All hire includes use of the kitchen for drinks making - fridge, microwave, hot water dispenser and crockery, cups etc.

Room information

Elm Room

Our largest hall space, suitable for a range of movement groups - dance, yoga, theatre workshops, tai chi etc as well as larger meetings, functions or performances.

  • Main floor dimensions: 9 x 9m with low platform at one end

Meeting Room

Our worship space, available for meetings, events or movement practices.

  • Floor space 7.7 x 8.10m with raised Elders bench at one end & fixed wall benches around the edge.

Library

Cosy carpeted spaces with large historic book cases against end wall.

Institute

Smaller meeting room, also suitable for arts workshops or more intimate movement classes.

A small private space, still part office, suitable for one-to-one or small group counselling, holistic & physical therapy, interviews etc

PRACTICAL STEPS - from enquiry to booking

  1. Check the room information above.
  2. Email us to arrange a visit if you wish.
  3. Check the booking calendar link here: Online booking calendar
  4. Email to provisionally reserve the day/times you need. This is held for up to 2 weeks
  5. Read through the hirer information pack and complete the booking form. There is a choice of formats to use below - DOCUMENTS : docx (word) to fill out online, save, and return by email or PFD to print and scan/email or post back.
  6. You'll be notified once the booking is confirmed. Our policy for cancellation or changes without charge is usually 7 days notice by email.    
  7.  The booking manager will arrange a short one off safety and building induction before your first session (normally just 10 mins ahead of set up). This is mandatory for all groups leaders as a condition of hire.

To note: As we are not a fully manned building (ie there are not staff on hand at all times), our hire policy requires that all group leaders take legal responsibility in case of emergency situation for safety of everyone attending their event and also security of the building. We provide a short safety induction training for all new hirer leaders and then require signed agreement.
