Quakers from earliest times have been committed to taking their faith out into the real world and playing a part in helping to transform it, even in small ways.
Nationally and internationally Quakers are to be found in social & political action; everything prison chaplaincy to foodbanks, arms trade protests to high level peace & reconciliation work. The highly respected Ecumenical Accompaniment programme in Israel & Palestine (EAPPI) has for many years worked in the west bank as human rights monitors
Darlington Quakers are involved with many local & grass roots concerns, especially those which speak to our testimony. Many also hire our spaces for their activities.
Friends Community Hub - a multi use not-for-profit community and gallery space next to the meeting house for local activities and artists/crafts pop up exhibitions right in the heart of town.
Death Cafe "Tea & Mortality" - Free monthly drop in open to everyone on the issues of death & dying. Informal, friendly and supportive with refreshments provided. Last Thursday each month 14.00-15.30, The Library @ Darlington Meeting House.
